What I do when not jumping? I enjoy being outdoors hiking or swimming. My girlfriend and I like to take our dog on walks as much as we like relaxing on the couch. I play pool, cook, and occasionally play computer games.
Favorite Jump: After completing requirements for receiving my instructional rating, I made my first jump with my first student that went perfectly. The best part of the jump was looking across the student to the other instructor who had been my instructor when I made my first student jump. Ironically, I had been her first student after receiving her instructional rating. Thank you to Merriah, current Regional Director of USPA for always being there.
Fun Fact: Fun Fact: I started jumping in the army!

Jarrod McKinney

Jarrod McKinney

Instructors - Tandem Instructor

Jumps: 700+
Year started: 2004
Why did I get into the sport?: I did my first Tandem the day before my birthday in 2004. I liked it so much that I left my job of 9 yrs, cashed in my 401K, bought a bunch of skydiving gear, and moved to New Zealand for 5 months to go to the New Zealand Skydiving School. It was the best decision I ever made.
Favorite Jump: August 28th 2010 I rose to an altitude of over 15,000 feet with only helium balloons before I released them to skydive down. (insert shameless plug here ->) fallingforacause.com
Zodiac Sign: Leo
Likes: Short walks on the beach, fainting goats, and cute girls with old lady names like "Gertrude" or "Gladys".
Dislikes: Long walks on the beach, drunk tandem students, roaming gangs of feral cats that control the inner city.

What I do when not jumping: I have lots of hobbies I enjoy. For instance, cross-stitching, reading, playing piano
Favorite jump: a student jump, solo exit and it was my first time to free fall stable, belly-to-earth without rotating due to body position, making it also the first time I smiled during free fall on a student jump.
What now: I currently only have about 20 jumps but I have been working and living on different drop zones for the past 3-4 years. I first went out to a drop zone when I was 18 because there was a boogie going on and my step-father, who is an avid fun-jumper, had volunteered to provide meal accommodations for the 4-5 day gathering. After being there for the boogie I just had to try it. I'm currently working towards receiving my A License.
